When To Buy Maternity Clothes?
Okay, so you just found out that you are pregnant. You are excited and ready to go purchase everything baby-related that you may have seen from all of your favorite Instagrammers.
We highly advise waiting until you can’t fit into the existing clothes. This is because while you are pregnant, the body changes differently for every woman, and of course, so do the hormones.
You may like something in the initial days of your pregnancy and then realize 3 or 4 months later that the dress is way too short or it will not quite fit.
Maternity Clothing Tips
We understand that looking, feeling comfortable, and looking good are probably the top priorities when it comes to maternity clothing, so here we have compiled 3 handy tips.
Shop Your Own Closet First
Before you go on the tedious hunt for a gorgeous maternity dress or a perfect pair of stretchy jeans, have a look at your own closet and find out what clothes you have that can withstand your growing belly.
For instance, if you have a few loose-fitting tops or maxi dresses hanging at the back of the closet that you just forgot about or some cozy, flowy shirts, which can be perfect for the occasion.
Most parents will try to save money for more necessary aspects such as the child’s entire future!
We recommend going down to some of your favorite local thrift stores and getting a good look through the racks of the stores. You may be surprised by how much you can find and they are in such good condition(as they have only been worn for a few months at a time).
What Are You Going To Do? What’s The Occasion?
If you are planning to continue to work in the office right up until the due date, you may not need many pairs of pregnancy jeans. Plan out what you will do for the next 10-11 months and buy accordingly.
If you know that you have a wedding to attend around the 7-month mark then splash out and purchase a cute maternity dress, maybe one that shows off that belly. Or perhaps you are right into the fitness regime, there are plenty of cute, comfortable leggings that will work the best for you.
If you are thinking about saving money, and we are pretty sure most expecting parents are, it is fine if you don’t buy an entirely new wardrobe.
What Sort Of Pregnancy Underwear?
Choosing the perfect underwear is where it gets a bit tricky but we have taken the guesswork to help you give support and comfort.
0-3 months pregnant: Select a soft, supportive, and stretchy non-wired bra for this stage because your breasts may increase up to 3 cups sizes and may be rather painful.
3-8 months pregnant: Any well-designed nursing bra can work fine for you at this stage from soft cup bras with 6 hooks to flexible wires and eyes for better extension and support as much growth does not occur but the ribcage will be expanding.
